I have been with Directv for about three years and I have been very satisfied. They are always offering free trials of movie channels and the customer service is always helpful.
The service has been fairly good. Picture quality is great and you get a lot of channels. I don’t like having to deal with customer support, though. The DVR works really well, except on-demand is really hard to navigate. Overall I’m satisfied with the service.
I think DirectTV is over priced for the poor quality of service that we receive.
Directv is a okay service. The tv side of it is perfectly fine, it is there handling of problems that is bad. I live in a very windy area, so the dish gets moved around by the wind a lot, and sometimes needs to be repositioned. I would do it myself if I knew where they are supposed to point, but I don’t. Directv charges the cutsomer $50.00!!! for them to reposition the dish, when it is most likely their fault for not fastening it tight enough.
Overall I had good experience with DirecTV. Signal quality/picture were usually good. One of the big downsides of satellite is that it often will not work during severe weather. Coming from cable this can be frustrating. When the weather is bad outside is exactly when you want to sit inside and watch TV, but sometimes you can’t! This is not the fault of DirecTV, but is just something you will deal with if you have satellite TV regardless of provider.
23 months into my contract, I upgrade my equipment for free, and sign a new 2 year prison sentence after receiving fabulous promotions through the mail . They offered free upgrade and a rate that was $10 a month less than I was currently paying. Now I get the bill and it is the same and it will cost me more after my 12 month promotion than I was paying previously. I am told that my quoted amount did not include tax and that their are additional fees associated with the CRAPPYHOPPER. It only supports 1 tv for free. There is a fee for each set. The hopper only has 3 tuners as opposed to 5 with Direct TV. They will not let me out of my contract and will not negotiate the monthly bill. I was told that the promotions are for new customers and that they would as soon stick it to anyone that they have in a current contract.

Pretty good service with plenty of options. Never any down time although there can be lag at times. Installation was quick and easy and the experience was without trouble.
Really great service with the occasional hiccup but really fantastic quality!
We have been pretty happy with our service from Dish. We had direct TV in the past and their prices were getting higher and higher every year.
